Reverse description The emperor stands facing left, bareheaded and dressed in military attire, holding in his right hand a labarum surmounted by the Chi-Rho christogram and grasping a round shield with his left. At his feet, two captives kneel facing one another, symbolizing the subjugation of barbarian enemies. The composition conveys imperial triumphalism and Christian devotion characteristic of the FEL TEMP REPARATIO ('Happy Times Are Restored') series. The reverse legend appears in the field, with the mintmark SMKΔ in the exergue, indicating the fourth officina of the Cyzicus mint.
