Reverse description The Emperor advances to the right in full military attire, grasping a barbarian captive by the hair with his right hand and carrying a Chi-Rho labarum standard in his left, a composition emblematic of Roman imperial victory iconography. The legend GLORIA ROMANORVM, meaning 'Glory of the Romans', is divided across the field. The mintmark R(heart)Q appears in the exergue, identifying this as a product of the Rome mint, officina quinta. The reverse type belongs to RIC IX 55C, Subtype 5, struck under Arcadius between 383 and 387 AD.
