| Beschrijving voorzijde | Central field occupied by a heraldic shield charged with the arms of Artois: azure semé-de-lis or with a label of three points, here rendered in relief with fleurs-de-lis in the lower portion and a row of towers or castellations along the chief. The shield is set within a plain inner border, itself enclosed by a beaded outer border running along the coin's periphery. The die-engraving is characteristic of mid-to-late 13th-century French feudal coinage, with bold, stylized forms typical of hammered silver issues. |
