Obverse description Within a beaded inner circle, two fleurs-de-lis are positioned at the left and right, their heads pointing inward toward the center of the field. A star occupies the upper portion of the inner circle and a crescent is placed below, together framing the central composition. Four small ringlets are disposed evenly in the annular space between the inner and outer beaded circles, serving as decorative punctuation. The overall design reflects the Romanesque ornamental vocabulary typical of mid-12th-century Flemish coinage from the Arras mint.
