| Reverse description | A floriate cross occupies the centre of the field, with each arm terminating in foliate or trefoil ends and small annulets at the junctions of the arms. The quadrants formed by the cross are each filled with a crescent-shaped foliate motif, creating a richly ornamented design typical of anonymous medieval Flemish hammered silver issues. |

| Additional information |
Anonymous silver obols struck at Middelburg circulated in Zeeland and coastal Flanders during a period when the county's minting rights were contested between the Count of Flanders and the Bishop of Utrecht. Middelburg's mint was among the smaller operations in the region, and attributions within this anonymous series remain contested — Ghyssens' numbering separates two subtypes that many dealers still conflate.
