Opmerkingen

Kapurthala State ran an annual "Lucky Bag" charity lottery during World War Two, with proceeds directed to St. Dunstan's Fund — the British organization supporting blinded soldiers and sailors. This note functioned as a lottery token rather than a monetary instrument, denominated symbolically in "Rupees" but redeemable only against the draw rather than at any treasury. The Jagatjit Press was the private press of the Kapurthala royal household, meaning this was essentially produced in-house by the maharaja's own printing operation rather than through any independent commercial printer.
