| 正面描述 | Draped bust of King Louis XIV facing right, wearing a long curled periwig and lace cravat with armored shoulder, rendered in high relief in the Baroque style. A beaded inner border frames the design. The circumferential Latin legend reads LVD·XIIII·D·G·FR·ET·NAV·REX, identifying the king as Louis XIV, by the Grace of God, King of France and Navarre. The mintmark and fineness indicator '900M' appear in small characters at the base of the truncation. |

The 1992 French Louis d'or is a reissue struck by the Monnaie de Paris to commemorate the original Louis d'or introduced by Louis XIV in 1640 — the first standardized gold coinage to bear that name. The original was introduced partly to displace the Spanish pistole, which had dominated French commerce for decades despite being foreign currency.
The .920 fineness matches the historical alloy specification of the 17th-century prototype rather than modern bullion standards.
