| Obverse description | Laureate and draped bust of King Louis XIII facing right, rendered in high relief with flowing curled hair beneath a laurel wreath. The surrounding legend in Latin reads the king's royal title, interrupted at the base by the fineness mark '900M' and the dates of his reign '1601-1643' in the exergue area. The effigy is portrayed in a bold baroque style befitting the original 17th-century coinage, with fine detail in the hair and drapery. The entire design is enclosed within a beaded inner border. |
