Reverse description Central ornamental cross formed by four pairs of interlaced and conjoined letter Ls, each pair facing outward, arranged symmetrically in the four quadrants of the field. Four fleurs-de-lis occupy the angles between the arms of the cross. A central circle encloses the workshop letter A, denoting the Paris Mint. The circular Latin legend CHRISTVS · REGNAT · VINCIT · ET IMPERAT is bisected at the top and bottom by the arms of the cross, and the issue year 1982 appears in the lower portion of the legend. A beaded inner border frames the design.
