Obverse description Laureate head of Apollo facing right, rendered in fine archaic Greek style with elaborately striated hair swept back and bound in a beaded wreath, the locks coiling at the nape of the neck. The facial features are finely detailed, with a sensitively modeled profile characteristic of early Classical Sicilian coinage. The neck is truncated cleanly at the lower edge of the field.

Reverse description A single barley grain depicted in high relief at center, oriented vertically, its characteristic pointed oval form and central ridge finely rendered. Four Greek letters — Λ, Ε, Ο, Ν — are disposed in the four quadrants of the field around the grain, serving as an abbreviated ethnic for ΛΕΟΝΤΙΝΩΝ (Leontinoi). The reverse field is slightly concave, typical of hammered issues of this period.
