| Obverse description | Helmeted head of Athena in right profile, rendered in fine archaic-to-early classical style. The goddess wears a Corinthian helmet pushed back on the head, revealing her facial features with a calm, idealized expression. The helmet is adorned with a prominent crest, and curling locks of hair are visible beneath the helmet rim framing the cheek and neck. The flan is irregular, typical of hand-struck Sicilian silver coinage of this period. |
