正面描述 Facing bust of Emperor Justin II, diademed, draped, and cuirassed, presented in the frontal imperial style characteristic of early Byzantine coinage. The emperor holds a Victory figure mounted on a globe in his right hand, while a decorated shield rests upon his left shoulder. The portrait is rendered with the formal, hieratic quality typical of sixth-century Byzantine mint work, with stylized facial features and rigid symmetry conveying imperial majesty. The circumferential obverse legend reads D N IVSTINVS PP AVG, identifying the emperor as Dominus Noster Justinus Perpetuus Augustus.

背面描述 The personification of Constantinopolis is depicted seated facing, with her head turned to the right, in a formal enthroned posture emblematic of Byzantine reverse iconography. She holds a long sceptre upright in her right hand and a globus cruciger in her left hand, symbolizing Christian imperial authority and the primacy of the eastern capital. The figure is rendered in a stiff, stylized manner consistent with Ravenna mint production of this period. The exergue and field carry the officina letter Z, denoting the sixth workshop, along with the OB (obryzum, pure gold) and cross marks. The circumferential legend VICTORIA AVGGG proclaims the victory of the three Augusti.
