| Obverse description | Multi-line Persian nastaliq inscription filling the field, arranged in two registers separated by a horizontal rule. The bold, flowing calligraphy renders the name and titles of Amir Sher Ali Khan in the characteristic Afghan hammered style. Dot pellets are scattered in the margins and between letterforms. The flan is irregular with a slightly raised rim, typical of hand-struck Afghan rupees of this period. |
