| Obverse description | Facing bust of the duke depicted in a stylized Romanesque manner at center, enclosed within a beaded inner circle. Surrounding the bust is an ornamental ring of four curved lobes or arches, creating a quatrefoil-like frame. The outer field is plain and irregular, consistent with the crude hammered fabric of 12th-century Bavarian bracteate-style coinage. No legible legend is present on this side. |
