Obverse description Central field displays a large Gothic capital letter H surmounted by a royal crown, the monogram enclosed within a beaded inner circle. The crowned H serves as the primary device representing Henri (Henry) d'Albret, King of Navarre and Lord of Béarn. A circular Latin legend runs between the inner beaded circle and the outer rim of the coin. The strike is characteristic of mid-sixteenth century hammered feudal coinage, with an irregular planchet and variable relief.

Reverse description Central field features a bold Greek cross with crosslets at each arm terminal, set within a raised inner circle. A small annulet or pellet appears at the center of the cross. The design is rendered in a plain, unadorned style typical of small feudal hammered coinage of the period. A circular Latin legend reading the Pauline motto encircles the central device between the inner circle and the irregular outer edge of the flan.
