Obverse description Fourfold quartered coat of arms surmounted by a bishop's electoral cap, with the date divided in two lines flanking the shield on either side. The dynastic arms of Bavaria are prominently displayed within the quartered escutcheon. The circular Latin legend encircles the design, interrupted at the top by the arms, and identifies the issuer as John Theodore, by the grace of God Duke of Bavaria.
