Obverse description Central field occupied by an ornate four-petalled floral rosette composed of interlaced curved leaves arranged symmetrically, rendered in relief in the hammered style typical of French feudal billon coinage. The design fills the inner field entirely, with each petal displaying a central lozenge-shaped eye motif. The surrounding legend in Latin characters is struck along the coin's periphery, partially worn but legible. The overall style is consistent with early seventeenth-century provincial French hammered coinage.
