The circular Latin legend, commencing with the perron symbol of Liege, reads FERD. PR. ELEC. COL. EP. LEOD, denoting Ferdinand's titles as Prince-Elector of Cologne and Bishop of Liege. The hammered flan exhibits an irregular edge characteristic of early 17th-century copper coinage from the Prince-Bishopric. |
