Obverse description Draped and armored bust of Charles II, Duke of Mantua, facing right, crowned with a jeweled crown, his long curled hair falling to the shoulder. The effigy is rendered in a Baroque style typical of mid-17th century French-influenced coinage. The circular legend in Latin runs around the periphery of the field, interrupted at the base by the date 1655. Bullet stops separate the legend elements.
