Obverse description Central field bears the quartered heraldic shield of Ferdinand of Bavaria as Prince-Bishop of Liège, incorporating the arms of the bishopric and associated territories, surmounted by a princely crown. The escutcheon displays multiple quarters including the Bavarian lozenges and the lion of Loon, executed in the bold, somewhat crude style typical of hammered copper coinage of the period. A circular Latin legend surrounds the shield, reading the ruler's name and title, separated by rosette stops. The coin shows characteristic irregular flan shape and uneven strike consistent with hammered production.
