Obverse description The coin takes the form of a thin silver wire rod bent back upon itself in the characteristic hairpin or fish-hook shape of the larin denomination. One half of the rod bears a stamped flat impression containing the royal titulature legend in Arabic script, arranged in multiple lines across the flattened striking surface. The lettering is deeply impressed into the silver, with the text running along the length of the flattened area. The surface shows the irregular, hand-worked finish typical of hammered Safavid larins of this long variant type.

Reverse description The reverse face of the flattened, stamped portion of the hairpin-shaped rod displays the Shi'a Muslim profession of faith in Arabic script, arranged in multiple lines across the impressed field. The Shahada is augmented with the characteristic Twelver Shi'a addition affirming Ali as the Chosen of God, consistent with all Safavid coinage of the period. The inscription fills the available surface of the stamp, with letters showing the bold, somewhat compressed style typical of die-struck larins produced under Tahmasp I. The reverse field, like the obverse, exhibits the irregular surface texture inherent to the hammered larin production technique.
