| Obverse description | Enthroned frontal figure of Maximilian I, King of the Romans, seated within an elaborate Gothic architectural framework of cusped trefoil arches supported by pinnacled buttresses. The ruler is depicted crowned, holding a sceptre in his right hand and an orb in his left, robed in regal attire. The throne rests on a decorated platform. The surrounding legend in Gothic uncial script reads MAXIMILIAN DEI GRA ROMAR REX SEMPER AVGV, separated by stops, running clockwise within a beaded border. |
