Obverse description Central crowned shield bearing the quartered arms of Bavaria-Hainaut, displayed prominently within the field. Surrounding the shield, twelve small lions are dispersed symmetrically throughout the field, lending heraldic richness to the composition. The entire design is framed by a continuous Latin legend along the coin's periphery, separated by annulets or rosette stops. The execution is characteristic of late 14th-century Low Countries hammered gold coinage, with bold heraldic elements rendered in a flat, incuse style typical of the period.
