Reverse description Central field within a beaded inner circle depicts a rampant lion to the left, rendered in a rough but vigorous late medieval hammered style, representing the heraldic emblem of Ruthenia (Rus). The surrounding legend in uncial Latin script reads + MONETA∘RVSSIE∘, identifying this as the coinage of Ruthenia. The flan is irregular and slightly cracked, typical of hammered silver issues of this period and mint.
