Obverse description Central field enclosed within a beaded inner circle features a large Gothic letter W (the initial of Władysław), flanked on either side by small decorative rosettes or pellets. The surrounding legend in uncial Latin script reads +WLADISLAVS∘DVX, identifying the issuer as Duke Władysław. The die is crudely but characteristically executed in the hammered medieval style, with an irregular flan edge visible at the coin's periphery.
