Reverse description The reverse field bears a prominent Arabic inscription in bold calligraphic script arranged in three registers. At the top, the regnal year numeral (year indicator 3, indicating the third regnal year) appears above the word 'ضرب' (struck/minted). The central register contains 'في إسلامبول' (in Islambul/Istanbul), identifying the Constantinople mint. At the base, the Hijri date 1171 is inscribed in Arabic numerals. The entire design is enclosed within a plain raised inner circle and a finely executed beaded outer border consistent with the obverse treatment.
