Obverse description Central field dominated by the elaborately rendered tughra of Sultan Mustafa III, the imperial calligraphic monogram executed in fine relief with characteristic interlaced loops, vertical shafts (tuğ), and sweeping diagonal flourishes. A small dot is positioned to the right of the tughra within the open field. The design is enclosed by a plain inner border surrounded by a raised beaded outer border running the full circumference of the coin. The flat, unadorned field around the tughra shows the characteristic texture of billon coinage of the period.
