| Obverse description | Central field dominated by the elaborate second-type tughra of Sultan Abdülhamid I, rendered in flowing calligraphic script with the characteristic bowed baseline, upright shafts (elif), and looped oval (beyzi). Below the tughra, a two-line Arabic mint and date inscription reads 'Struck in Constantinople 1187' (AH), with the Hijri regnal year 1187 numerals clearly visible at the base. The entire design is enclosed within a plain inner border and surrounded by a finely milled outer rim. |
