| 表面の説明 | Quartered abbatial coat of arms of Marian von Castelberg, displayed on a baroque cartouche with elaborate mantling to either side. A pontifical mitre surmounts the shield, flanked by a crozier and a processional cross. The circular legend in Latin abbreviations runs along the coin's periphery within a beaded border, identifying the issuing abbot by title and dignity. |

The Abbey of Disentis, founded in the early 8th century in the Graubünden Alps, held the right to strike coin under imperial privilege and issued sporadically through the 18th century as local trade demanded. This 1729 kreuzer was produced under Abbot Marian von Castelberg, whose tenure coincided with a period of modest rebuilding at Disentis following the devastation wrought by French troops in 1799 — though that came decades later. The abbey's coinage circulated primarily within the immediate mountain valleys where Habsburg and Cantonal issues were equally current.
