| Reverse description | Four heraldic shields arranged in a cross pattern occupy the central field, representing the territories of Austria (Bindenschild), Styria, Windische Mark, and Carinthia. The shields are disposed in the four quadrants, a common compositional device on multi-territorial coinage of the Habsburg domains. A Gothic uncial legend surrounds the composition, referencing Archduke Albert VI as ruler of Austria. The die work is bold but irregular, consistent with hammered production of the mid-fifteenth century. |
