Obverse description Rider on horseback galloping to the right, depicted in dynamic motion with the horse's forelegs raised; the rider, dressed in a short chlamys billowing behind him, extends his right arm forward in a commanding gesture. The figure is rendered in a bold, somewhat provincial style characteristic of Thracian coinage of the 4th century BC. The field is plain and the flan is irregular in shape, typical of hammered bronze issues of the Odrysian kingdom.
