| Obverse description | Typical wire money (cheshuyка) design depicting a mounted warrior in right profile, shown as an armed horseman bearing a spear or lance, struck on a small irregular flan produced from a flattened silver wire blank. The hammered relief is characteristically uneven, with portions of the design falling near or beyond the flan edge. The execution is in the archaic Russian hammered tradition, with bold but stylised rendering of the equestrian figure standard to kopeck coinage of the Time of Troubles period. |
