Obverse description Central design featuring an equestrian figure of the Tsar, depicted as a mounted warrior galloping to the right and brandishing a spear, in the traditional style of Russian wire money (chekhi). The horse is shown in full gallop with legs extended. Cyrillic date numerals appear beneath the hooves of the horse in the lower field, denoting the year 1702 in the Old Church Slavonic numerical system (҂АѰВ). The design is executed in the archaic Russian hammered tradition, with an irregular flan typical of wire kopecks of the period.
