| Reverse description | The reverse bears a multi-line Cyrillic inscription filling the entire field of the irregular flan, giving the full titulature of Tsar Ivan V Alexeyevich. The text is arranged in horizontal lines across the die in the traditional format used on Russian wire kopecks of the late 17th century. The legend reads: ЦАРЬ И ВЕЛИКИЙ КНЯЗЬ ИОАНН АЛЕКСЕЕВИЧ ВСЕЯ РУСИ, identifying the co-ruling Tsar as Ioann (Ivan) Alexeyevich, Grand Prince of all Rus. The lettering is boldly struck in raised relief, though partially affected by the irregular shape and surface of the coin. |
