Reverse description The reverse bears a multi-line Cyrillic inscription struck across the irregular oval flan in the characteristic fashion of Russian wire money of the period. The legend, arranged in horizontal lines filling the entire field, reads the royal titulature of Tsar Ivan V Alexeyevich. The text, partially visible across four discernible lines, identifies the ruler as Tsar and Grand Prince Ioann Alexeyevich of all Russia. The letters are bold and deeply incuse, typical of the hammered die technique employed at the Moscow Mint, with the mint mark 'оМ' (Moscow) incorporated into the inscription.
