Obverse description Struck on a small, irregularly shaped silver flan typical of the wire money (cheshуika) tradition, the obverse depicts a mounted horseman — the traditional figure of a rider wielding a lance or spear — in right-facing profile. The design is rendered in the archaic, schematic style characteristic of late Muscovite hammered coinage, with the horse and rider occupying the majority of the irregular field. The flan's uneven edges cause portions of the device to fall off the planchet, a feature common to this series. No border or legend appears on this side.
