| Beschrijving voorzijde | Tsar Peter I depicted as an armoured equestrian figure facing right, mounted on a horse and bearing a lance or spear held diagonally across the field in the traditional Russian wire money style. The design follows the long-standing Muscovite kopeck tradition of showing the sovereign as a mounted warrior, rendered in a bold but schematic hammered relief characteristic of the period. The irregular flan, typical of wire coinage produced by cutting sections from a silver wire and striking between dies, results in a partially visible design. The composition is executed in low relief with the crude yet vigorous artistry consistent with the final years of Russian wire kopeck production under Peter I. |
