| Beschrijving keerzijde | The reverse of this characteristic Russian wire kopeck displays a four-line Cyrillic inscription arranged horizontally across the irregularly shaped silver flan, reading 'Царь Петр Алексеевич' (Tsar Peter Alekseyevich), identifying the issuing sovereign. The lettering is struck in bold, slightly archaized Cyrillic characters typical of the late wire-money series produced under Peter I. The flat field shows the natural granular texture of the hammered silver surface, with no additional decorative elements or bordure. The flan is elongated and irregular in outline, a defining characteristic of the cheshуika or 'scale money' production method. This inscription type places the coin among the later issues of Peter I's wire coinage, produced before the monetary reform of 1718 discontinued this ancient coinage tradition. |
