Obverse description A mounted rider, representing the Tsar, depicted in full gallop to the right while wielding a spear downward in the characteristic wire kopeck tradition. The figure is rendered in a stylized, archaic manner typical of early Russian hammered coinage. Cyrillic date numerals appear beneath the horse's hooves in the lower field. The overall design follows the long-standing chekha (wire money) iconographic convention inherited from earlier Muscovite coinage.
