Obverse description A mounted horseman, representing the Tsar, depicted in profile galloping to the right and wielding a spear, rendered in the traditional wire money (cheshуika) style. Below the horse's hooves appear Cyrillic letters surmounted by a titlo abbreviation mark, denoting the date 1706 in Cyrillic numeral notation (҂ЯΨS). The design is struck on a characteristically irregular, elongated flan typical of Russian wire kopecks of this period. The relief is bold but uneven, consistent with hand-hammered production from a silver wire blank.
