Obverse description Obverse depicts the traditional Russian wire money design of a mounted warrior (St. George type) shown in right profile, seated on horseback and brandishing a lance or spear downward toward a serpent or fallen enemy below. The design is struck in low relief on an irregular, oval flan characteristic of the chekha (wire money) production method. The image is rendered in a schematic, archaic style with minimal detail, typical of late Muscovite coinage. No border or legend appears on this face.
