Obverse description Tsar on horseback facing right, depicted in the traditional Russian equestrian style characteristic of wire money (cheshuyky). The rider, representing the sovereign, is shown wielding a lance or spear directed downward, seated upon a prancing horse rendered in a schematic but vigorous manner. The irregular flan, formed from a flattened silver wire blank, gives the design a characteristic oval shape with naturally uneven borders. Partial Cyrillic date characters (҂АΨВ) appear in the lower field, partially visible due to the limited flan coverage.
