| Obverse description | Obverse of this wire money (cheshuyка) depicts an equestrian figure of Tsar Peter I in military dress, shown riding to the right and brandishing a lance or spear in the raised right hand. The design is rendered in the traditional Russian hammered style, with the image occupying the irregular oval flan. Portions of the Cyrillic legend identifying the tsar are visible along the periphery, partially cut off by the coin's irregular shape. The relief is bold but uneven, characteristic of the wire-money striking technique. The date in Cyrillic numerals (҂АΨА, corresponding to 1701) appears in the field. |
