| Reverse description | The entire reverse field is occupied by a multi-line Cyrillic inscription arranged in horizontal registers across the irregular oval flan, as was standard for Russian wire money (cheshuitsy) of the period. The legend, reading in abbreviated form, gives the full title of the sovereign: Tsar and Grand Prince Mikhail Fedorovich of All Rus. The lettering is bold and slightly compressed to fit the flan, characteristic of the hammered technique employed at the Moscow Mint during the reign of Mikhail I. |
