| Obverse description | Tsar on horseback facing right, depicted as an armoured equestrian figure wearing a crown and holding a spear or lance levelled downward in the traditional pose of Saint George slaying the dragon, rendered in the flat, stylised manner characteristic of early Romanov wire money. The figure occupies the majority of the irregular oval flan. The mint mark 'о М' (Moscow Mint) appears in the lower field. The overall die work is bold but heavily worn and displaced due to the hand-hammered wire coin production method. |

| Reverse description | The reverse bears a multi-line Cyrillic inscription in archaic Russian script filling the entire field of the irregular oval flan, characteristic of the wire kopeck (чешуйка) coinage of the early Romanov period. The legend reads the full royal titulature of Tsar Mikhail Fyodorovich, arranged in horizontal lines across the flan. Individual letters are boldly struck but partially off-flan due to the nature of the hammered wire technique. The inscription is the standard formula used on Moscow Mint kopecks of this reign. |
