Obverse description Equestrian effigy of the Tsar depicted as a mounted warrior on a galloping horse moving to the right, lance couched in the right hand in the manner of Saint George. The mint letters К-Ч (denoting the mintmaster initials) and the abbreviated mint name МОС КВА (Moscow) appear in the field beneath the horse's hooves, arranged in the customary positions for Russian wire money of this period. The design is struck on an irregular planchet cut from a silver wire rod, resulting in a characteristic oval or bean-shaped flan with uneven borders.
