Obverse description A crowned equestrian figure, representing the Grand Prince, is depicted in right profile astride a horse, brandishing a long spear diagonally across the field in a characteristic wire-money hammered style. The rider wears a crown and flowing robes, with the spear held prominently — the iconographic motif from which the denomination 'kopeck' (from 'kopyo', meaning spear) derives its name. The design is rendered in bold, schematic relief typical of early Muscovite wire coinage, with a partial beaded border visible along the upper periphery of the irregularly shaped flan.
