| Obverse description | A crowned equestrian warrior, identified as the Tsar, depicted in right profile atop a galloping horse, his right arm raised and wielding a long lance or spear. The figure is rendered in the characteristically compact, stylized manner of Russian wire money of the period. Beneath the horse's hooves appears the Pskov mint mark in Cyrillic letters ПС (rendered as ⌉⌈), identifying the place of issue. The design is struck on an irregular planchet cut from a flattened silver wire, resulting in variable flan shape and partial legend placement. |
