| Obverse description | A mounted horseman (the so-called 'копейщик', or spearman) depicted in right profile, galloping on horseback and brandishing a long lance or spear, rendered in the characteristic schematic style of Russian wire money. The design occupies the entire irregular flan, with abbreviated Cyrillic letters visible below the horse. The imagery derives from the traditional seal of the Grand Princes of Moscow and serves as the type-defining motif of the kopeck denomination. |
