背面描述 Enthroned half-figure of Saint Rupert of Salzburg facing slightly forward, vested in full pontifical robes including mitre and cope, holding a crozier in his left hand and a book in his right, with a nimbus behind his head. At the base of the figure a circular orb bearing the fractional denomination 1/6 is prominently displayed. The surrounding legend SANCT RVDBERTTVS EPS SALISB with the date 1666 encircles the saint within a beaded border. The design reflects the high baroque ecclesiastical style characteristic of the Salzburg mint in the mid-seventeenth century.

附加信息

Guidobald von Thun served as Archbishop of Salzburg from 1654 to 1668, presiding over the city during its most ambitious phase of Baroque reconstruction — he commissioned Fischer von Erlach's predecessors and fundamentally reshaped the architectural character of the see. The klippenthaler format, struck square rather than round, was not an accident of manufacture but a deliberate choice, common among German-speaking mints for presentation pieces and emergency coinage alike, though Salzburg used it with unusual consistency across fractional denominations.

Zöttl distinguishes at least six die varieties across this type, numbered 1819 through 1824.
